oops....I broke it
« on: February 16, 2008, 02:35:15 PM »

Well what a great special day for me, just done a few hundred quids worth of damage to the zx10.....

taking a good, dry, sunny roundabout at steady speed, say 30-35 and turned in the back end went out, wow so lifted her up thinking it was not the road and then went in again....knee down when she decided to let go again, but this time no chance to recover, she just washed out from underneath me...I was already on the floor so no harm to me..except me GP trial fooked again :emb:  Mind you I should have taken the warning and not tried to get me knee down just gone slowly around...things is i do this roundabout every day and know it so well...was not expecting it to shunt me off.

When we walked the road it was very very slippy under foot, but totally dry.

Any way new panels, exhaust hanger, clip on and break lever essentials and a few other marks need sorting but not too bad...wish i had had the new crash bungs fitted...

what a pisser, the roads are still very cold though so it's really not worth trying summer type riding else you will indeed end up on your arse. It's easy to think it's summer when the suns shining but it ain't, maybe try sitting on the road bollock naked to see if the grounds warm enough to ride fast on in bends [whistle] [rofl] [rofl]

sorry that you fell pal and hope you get it fixed up soon  :icon_thumright:

Well. you were one of the first to get one and to my knowledge are the first to bin one. Sucks!  :crybaby2: At least you're ok though and when repairing the beast, don't forget the crash bungs!  :icon_thumright:

Safecoat or whatever it's called, shitty stuff. The authorities round here love it as it's cheap and sticks to the road longer so don't have to grit as often.  Fucking cack.

yes i think it is the greasy salt stuff...me and hammy had not been travelling slow and this was just about the slowest bit we had done...was annoying and will cost 450 quid for all the bits..ho hum....

But i think too its not time to go moving fast on these roads...need to wait until the rains have cleaned them...so another lesson learned...

Along with being the 1st person to get an '08  you can now say that you were the first to crash one too!!!!!!!

Seriously tho unlucky mate.

Had similar the other weekend. Went out for a run rolled the throttle on comeing off a roundabout (not aggresivly) and the rear let go.  Luckily I stayed on

Bad luck mate.

Bit of a shitty claim-to-fame too

Mine will be ridden home and will stay there until the roads actually get some warmth in them.

The roads are  bad enough on an XT660 never mind something with 3X the power!

Man twostrokes that news really blows , glad your ok m8 . Hammy said you had a bit of  bruising on your leg/hip . Is all the damage easy to repair or does it need to go to the dealers   :dontknow:
