New Boy
« on: February 13, 2008, 08:35:39 PM »

Greetings to one and all! I have just joined up with this site and had a browse around. I am very impressed with it. I need some advice at the moment as I am thinking of getting a 2006 ZX10R. It is a beauty, jet black, 3600 miles, fsh and akrapovics. Are there any known issues with this model, common faults and the like, and what is it like as a road bike, handling acceleration etc? At present I own a ZZR1100D3, this is a dead comfortable bike which can cruise all day at very high speed, but it is a built like a bus and handles like one. I had a quick go on the ZX10 and was very, very impressed with it, but I would love to know more about them before I part with any cash!!

All the best

it's a great bike. I have an '07 and love it. be prepared to sell your soul and remortgage your house so you can buy addons and do a track day every week. No problems with this bike except very high speeds onthe road, but then we are all in control of our right hand.

Welcome to ere'  :icon_thumright:  As for the ten YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. You can split hairs all day long about diff' bikes but at the end of the day if you like the look of it then that is preety much good enough  :icon_thumright: As for probs other than the Fi light flashing now and again after a wash i know of no issue's with the 04/05/06  or 07.

so what are you waiting for     :tongue3:

Its an awesome road bike with loadsa power and good handling....

there are very little know issue's some of the bikes have vibration problems but not on all, some of them have poor brake but again its not consistent across all of them..

I would say use the search facility on here there will be a few things you will find.... but all in all no major issue  :icon_thumleft:

welcome to the forum and hope you do get the ten, if you don't do feel free to stay a member we accept all riders  :icon_thumleft:

Welcome to the site mate.  :icon_thumright:

I understand that the only real issue with any of the ZX10R's is the nut that tends to work itself loose every now and then.

It's situated between the tank and back wheel  on most models :tongue3:

welcome to the forum  :icon_thumright:

it will be a very different seating arrangement in that you'll feel it on your wrists in comparison to what you have now but you know that for sure.

Well afterall it's a 10R forum so everyone will say it's brillaint  :tongue3:

GRNinja is dead right there around the vibe issues for some people but I say just get it, it's a heart purchase and you won't regret it  :icon_thumright:
