998R @ 30 put you off  :dontknow: Come on mate you want a scooter for that sort of thing you don't see 998R's in the Ducati brochure with shopping hanging off the bars pootling around town. I would love one but can't afford the service side. I reckon it would give my ten a serious run on track.

you wouldnt want one mate ..as for the 30 ..i ment it just wouldnt ride at 30 smoothly u had to keep pulling the clutch in to stop it stalling .... i paid 13.5k for mine rode it 12 times and swopped it for a 04 ten the week they came out ......... at the time i had a gsx1400 aswell i used to go out on that and leave the duke at home it was that bad ............

the 24 K ducati also has a bigger bore engine than the standard one  :icon_thumright:

Best to take no notice of the 'numbers' on the range-leading Ducs.

916SP was a 955 then 996cc

998R was actually a 999 Testrasetta motor.

1098R is 1198cc.

The 996/8R is a thing of beauty imho  :occasion14:

Following on from this, a 1098 isn't even 1098cc, it's 1099.  :dontknow:

Ah.

Fair do's.

Not like Ducati to make things simple is it?

I used to own a 996S (same year as your R) - some of the earlier models came with full SPS motors (minus the high-lift cams) as they were lying around the factory so they fitted them to save space.

Mine was a later base-model S but the earlier ones (exactly the same on paper) had more power and torque.

Just not fair  ;-)

The new 10R has an option of factory mini indicators for the front and a seat cowl.

Still dont like the look of the NEW zx10r looks so ugly with indicators, as for the exhaust it would have to GO  !    I wounder if you make it go under the seat  :dontknow:
