just makes Private places pointless as the ones that are any good cost a fortune and the other ones that you have to change will end you up getting nicked  :-/

I reckon a 7 x5 in a standard font will be ok. It's people taking the piss with altered letters, itallic fonts and  one line plates on bikes they'll be gunning for

As a Leicester lad born and bred,  its no wonder!  Unfortunately its full of trevved up Honda civics...wid bass bins in da boot 'init!  All with their numbers plates that have no resemblance to their names, car, colour, religion or anything else for that matters.  Gets right on my tits...seriously I could go well off on one on this subject.  :boxing:   :dontknow:

I don't think we as bikers or car enthusasists help ourselves when we have ridiculously small number plates on our bikes or some funking awful type face on our car reg.  You know the "Monotype Corsiva" or something that makes it look like it was written by someone who reflects the mental age of the person who thought it would look "cool" and that they would actually get away with it.  Come on...wake up and smell the Kenco!  :boxing: :icon_scratch:

Here endeth the rant!

However, don't have a problem with personal plates to be honest.  If they something that means something to them, or the car.  Often they are gifts from loved ones.  I am actually in the process of buying a plate for my car.  But have it, show it as it should be and if its look good standard then cool if not, consider something else.

It's not just Leicestershire, it's called Operation Larch and is country wide.

It runs til next Monday and is intended as a zero tolerence policy on any plate that doesn't conform - right down to plate suppliers post code not being displayed!

Be careful out there
