just a thought dude, will the insurance company sort you out with a new Arata/Akrapovic can being a non-standard item?  they might get funny and say you have to declare 'modifications' beforehand.  All this due to a numpty on a fazer.

You dont have to inform the police if NO one was hurt in the accident .

So if he is insured then just claim off him !!                           As for the modifications as long as it was a cut and dry case the he ran in to the back of you then they wouldn't even bother.

Only time there going to be arsed if you had caused the accident then they could void your insurance !

if it goes on a registar will you get a document stating what was repaired

or if it goes through the insurance repairers will you get a receipt stating what was
fixed.

check to see what the cost of a new standard can is at Kawasaki.
you may then just get a cheque to do what you want with.

bet you a new standard can is about 250 ish

i had a guy knock me off my rd125lc back in 1987 (ok im old)
i had my bike assesd by insurance and a local bike shop gave me a quote.
i was then sent a cheque for approx 600 notes. spent half repairing bike
and the rest on porn mags and beer

so its realy up to you mate

1) on register and new can

or

2)not on register and down the price of a can .

I don't know what the classification is like  cause they will probably assess the damage on the faring and the tank....

plus all I want is a can and they will probably replace it with a standard can which won't help me 

its bollox really cause I did nothing wrong some cunt crashed into me cause he wasn't paying attention to the lights and now I hav e to pay the price

It only gets classed if its a write off. Not damaged and repaired.
