Blue Brake fliud
« on: January 15, 2008, 08:13:43 PM »

Saw them using blue brake fluid on American Chopper recently and thought 'that would look good on mine' !

Anyone tried the stuff ? Think it's the same as this http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=105696

ATE Super Blue. I've been using it for the last couple of years with no problem. Loads of trackdays / instructing and a bit of endurance and never had a problem.

The only annoying thing is when someone looks the bike over and tells you the brake fluid's dirty and needs changing. I got to the point last year where I wrote "It's blue, not dirty" on the resevoir in perm marker.  :tongue3:

It seems to bleed up really easily too.

HM Racing use and recommended it to me so thought I'd give it a try. Never had any fading issues with it so carried on using it.

It's all a bit of a personal preference thing, just like oil really. You get something you like so you stick with it.

I've got some cheapo crap in mine at the mo, albeit it's DOT4 but should it work the same in 'normal' conditions  :icon_scratch:

Think I'll get some branded stuff tomorrow and rebleed the bugger  :icon_thumright:

So does the branded/perf stuff simply work the same until under track conditions?  whats the difference day-to-day  :dontknow:

Different boiling points Andy. Yeah normal road riding should be fine with any decent dot 4.
