Interesting. Same hard rear as all kwaks though so don't know why they dissed it for that.

MCN has just put the first 2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R on a dyno, and the new bike makes a genuine 170bhp at the rear wheel!

Torque is impressive too, making 80.24lbft at 8500rpm. To put the figure into perspective, a 2008 R1 tested back-to-back on the same dyno made 162bhp and 79.29lbft of torque at 9500rpm.

They are track bias bikes thats why. Andy they say the R1 needed stiffening up for track use and i know you would say the same, plus MC101 just said very similar after riding the 08 R1.

The Kwak suspension works on the newer models.

yeah the R1's do need stiffening up I've got an R6 spring on the rear of mine. BUT people who take their bike to the track kind of expect to make some minor mods. The majority of both bikes sold will be used on the road and most road riders expect it to work straight from the crate.

Didnt you have yours revalved though?

Yeah new piston, and shimstack. Front was revalved too but uses stock springs. Tbh i only got it done because the guy offered such a good deal. Every bike would benefit form what was done to mine.

Anyway back to my original point. lol., someone here said they shouldn't have a downer on the hard rear end because Kawasakis always have done. That is correct and they have always been criticised for it, going back to the old zxr750. They either seem to get the linkage ratio wrong (zxr750J and early zxr400) , a poor rear shock design (636B1) or too much  damping (04/05 zx10)
