Well said Glenn,  I do agree with you that if anyone wants to broadcast themselves being an idoit then they are the masters of their own demise, I certainly don't blag about doing 160+ or whatever as I don't want to bring attention to myself or fellow riders, however some people do dislike bikes and will take great pleasure in contacting the plod, but I also feel that they may of done so because of some 'hero's' behaviour in the past?  But as for do-gooders, well I think they are mostly confined to anti-speed charities like 'brake' and 'road peace'.

As for the youtube video - whoever posted it is a tosser. Get a pencil cam with a wide lense so they can't try to work out how fast you're going and never ever show your clocks. Taking the piss is taking the piss however you dress it up.

when we do wrong and we realise we have done it and get caught thats just how
it is. if you had kept within the limits then you would be left alone.

a lot is down to attitude and how much piss you take, eg 120mph
as apposed to 160.

we actualy need the old bill, if we didnt have them how hard would it be to live
in a lawless society.



every one of us speeds but its where and when you do it which makes the

last year i was doing 90 down the m5, inside lane at 6am, cop car overtook me
and went on his way. you just have to be wise. so oing 180 then showing
everyone

If you take a minute to think about what sort of person would take the time to show their speedo to the public with that number then I say they need a good talking to. Yes, I speed on my bike and have been to excessive speeds (on a private road of course) but for someone to do that is just plain fucking stupid. 

As has been said already yes we certainly do need the police and we are all aware of the laws that we live within afterall   

Thanks very much to the guy who posted it as he's helped to keep bikes hated by the majority of the public and no doubt there will be a few kids who, as a result, now won't be allowed to buy a moped because their parents are aware of this video

Not seen the video, but if there's no time or date to go by then they won't be able to prosecute anyway.

There was a case last year around this way that made the national headlines when a guy on a bike was filtering at high speed and overtaking on bends causing other cars to move over, pulling wheelies etc.  The guy videod it all and put it on YouTube, however he was a dumb shmuck and didn't edit the part out where he pulls into his own garage.  He got away with it cos the prosecution couldn't prove a time for the offences.

Yes I do think that some of these people are begging to be locked up, I mean if you ain't got the brains to not film your clock, then are you sure you should be running them speeds in the first place.

it maybe be confidential, but if you post a bike video they will just search the DVLA database in that area for everyone who owns that bike , then go round there house till they find the right person, they with never get the video to hold up in court cause there is no proof that that bike belongs to anybody in particular or that the owner of the bike was even the rider 

all the time will be wasted and I agree time can be spent better doing other things than chasing speeding bikers .....

the Bit I thought was a bit excessive was when kawasakirider said

what has do gooders got to do with it, there is more people in our country than ever before , and more cars more bikes more crime blah blah blah and people are doing there best to try and progress our country the best they can..... Admittedly some MP's and people in power have stupid ideas but then there is other MP's and people in power to keep them in check.

Unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world and we have to accept the cards that is given to us and do the best we can to get on.

People like Kawasakirider need to get real if they think that posting on a message board  our country is run by a load of do gooders.... when people like me have been to war on the back the government   (who pretty much writes the law these days) just makes me laugh.
I didn't risk my life for a country where people can't appreciate the freedom they actually have....

Like someone else posted , if someone is stupid enough to film there clocks going 180MPH and then posting it on Youtube then they deserve to get done for it....

Its got nothing to do with do gooders... if we didn't have people posting this shit then the police wouldn't have to waste time searching for it

With regards to the Video, at the end of the day, if you do the crime and get caught the author can presumably be expected (rightfully) to do the time

i know alittle about the vid made on the a628...........my fav road apart from diesel on corners from massive hgv use.....
thing is,life is all about rebellion with morals,we all know this deep down.
bikes are looked upon and always will be by most of socioty as bad,thats why we buy em,the risk,the looks of disgust,the looks of admiration,the buzz,the freedom,the pain........such a catch 22.
i always think this and always lived by 4 golden rules

2...do anything you can for those you care for
3...fuck the rest

and ive had an ace life and so have those round me,so even though i cross dress on a saturday,fight as much as i can,ride fast,fall off and still smile and do it again says to me..i got my life right.
i fought in northern ireland...kosavo,afgan and 1st gulf,fought  for what the government said was right to do.......... risked my lfe and took life...........did i do it for the queen or the guy down the street,for my missus and kids........no...i did it cause i wanted too......regrets..............none.

some interesting comments here,i agree with glen in as much that if you are foolish enough to post a video of yourself on youtube speeding at more than twice the legal limit you deserve to get caught.

gets on my tits the way the biking comunity get on there high horses about the do gooders and bike haters always gunning for us ,calling us hooligans and wreckless minded ect because at the end of the day we deserve it.

you can go on any forum and read about people speeding on alleged private roads,round about warriors,wheelie warriors the list is endless.
yet we see fit to rigerousley defend ourselves and give the poor hard done to bikers image.

i love biking,love the rush,the speed and the feel of freedom but i think the biking world is one of the most hipocritical there is.

and i aint afraid to admit im one of those hypocrits for reasons i will not divuldge.
