They are always on there and very cheap. Not sure what the quality is like. You get what you pay for i guess.

i would go for a pull/push throttle meself, for peace of mind if anything   :icon_thumright:

Guys - Check out the Venhill QA Throttles -- they'll make cables to match I think and quality is fine :-) 

Single cable is fine for the track, dual cable for road seems to make sense !

All you need is a length of zip-tie glued inside the throttle housing to make the cables glide round a larger area. I did it on my zx6r - piece of piss, 5 minutes and pretty much free!

Re the mod though, it's very easy and surprisingly effective. I don't think i'll be doing it to mine just yet as i've only had her a couple of weeks and done less than 20 miles but it's definitely goona be done at some point - free mods rule!  :headbang:

ps - I am not liable to anyone that loops their pride and joy after doing this lol!

i would'nt go for a single cable  for track  or road  , may never hapen  but if one breakes  at the end of snett streight !!!!
will have to look in acu hand book see if allowd or  not  dont think it is

If the cable breaks the throttle bodies will close under the load of their springs.

And yes, they are permitted the only reg I think is that is must be "self closing when not held" - again thats done by the throttle body springs on both 1 and 2 cable systems.

ive had a throttle stuck open before where the cable had frayed and got jammed. a 2 cable system would have pulled it shut.
not so important in recent years though due to far superior cables with thinner more flexible strands.
i havent had a throttle cable break for 20 odd years now.
after the misshap back then its always nice for me to know i have a cable to fall back on  :icon_thumright:
