Arrow did, or still do, a Y pipe for the 06/07 model.   If you gut the cat then the pipe that's left widens a bit and then narrows causing the gasses to slow up and then speed up, you can see what I mean by looking at the outer dimensions of the pipe.  The Arrow is one size and keeps the exhaust gas speed constant, which I'm told helps the running of the bike.

Yes you picture-whore , the Y pipe just replaces the cat section.  Nice bike, fit some Nissin calipers and it'll be nicer.  Look at the bottom picture and you'll see what I mean about the cat going brown, it's clearly made of a different metal.  Did the Maxton fork conversion make much difference?   Richard told me it was really only needed on the track, but he's done a few for the road, even the 25mm cartridge conversion.

The cat is Ti. There is an inner tube of 8mm stainless to keep the core ffrom falling apart. Itsa different colour because of this and the temperature it reaches. The reaction makes it hotter than the headers

Brown (Straw) is cooler than blue as far as heat goes. Obviously it dont get as much heat with the stainless liner.

good point. I was told that the cat need to be a certain temp before it works which is why its where it is. Its supposed to get hotter because of the chemical reaction.
Mute point on mine seeing as it hasn't got anything inside [whistle]. Jon at racefit is takin the liners out in the new year for me - they are about a kilo each!

True, but quite like having the stealth look. It says KHI on the side of mine and no-one is none the wiser.
IMO the single sider on the 06 looks shite, keep the 2 or get rid all together. I'll have the option of a "standard" for most of the time and a unique underbelly foir meets, shows, etc

My gutted cat has gone brown, if it was titanium it should have gone blue, and how come Kawasaki don't use the same matt finish on the mid-pipe if it's all the same material?  I'm pretty certain it's stainless.

I don't care where your born  [wall]

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pikey

take note of No.3

3.     pikey
   202 up, 49 down

Originally a harmless slang name for a gypsy and/or traveller, being derived from the word 'turnpike.'

Now generally regarded as a term of abuse that encompasses any persons perceived as common, tasteless, flashy, in-bred, thieving and a whole host of other sins(SHOW OFF), the primary term is till applied to gypsies.

Once thought of as the type of person who sold you useless lucky heather whether you wanted it or not, the pikey is now the type of person who will uselessly tarmac your driveway whether you want it or not.

A popular hobby amongst pikeys is collecting; mainly dogs, horses, scrap metal and stolen goods.    :pottytrain2: :pottytrain2: :pottytrain2:
