It takes something like this to see what a mess the world is in, well the human race really not the world 

Yes, I don't know all of the facts but fekk me what a complete loads of bollox. I remain completely shocked that something like this can cause such an uproar and can put people at risk when they have done nothing except be born into a different religion 

somedays I am simply amazed at what a complete mess the human race is, maybe our brains are simply too big for us at this point of evolution

Yes there are many viewpoints on this but when I maybe working on UAE work in the future it makes me think twice about a visit to there which is simply ridiculous 


My understanding is that we accept all religions into the UK and give them respect and I most certainly do but the world is a strange place and some countries have no tollerance for ignorance to the home religion which is a terrible shame

Good point, we in the UK have a religion first country second policy. Where as many other countries, (France being one I think) have country first then religion.
In my opinion  we have over time become extremely tollerant to outside infulences as we are an island with few natural resources, we can only survive by the movement and turnaround of the demographic.
Larger countries and landlocked countries that are self reliant and resource heavy do not experience our difficulties, and therefore become less tolerant, of others.  The countries that are visited by western tourist over the years do tend to relax.
Although in addition to this we as a country are not very religious, and the general populus cannot understand strong religious belief system this in my opinion is because we are wealthy, and are happy enough in life, the prospect of a happy afterlife etc doesn't seem so important. You will find the poorer the country the more likely it is to lean on religion.  I reckon only one is right.......make your choice..

Don't let it put you off going to the UAE Andy. Most of the locals are decent friendly people and in Dubai they are outnumbered by ex-pats

im not racist or anything but things like this really boil my piss 

my kids have to miss out on xmas at school cos of the 'foreigners'
they have islam religion lessons or whatever they are.

all i can say is that their lives must be that boring,they pick on the slightest thing and all thrive on it.

i have a few work friends who are of a different faith, muslim, hindu and seik.
good friends with all of them and went to all thier weddings and was made
realy welcome

when i speak about the things we have posted they are usualy in agreement,
when we arnt we have a chat about it and see each others views.

when they removed the stars from oxford street christmas lights last year in case they "upset"other minorities that was enough. if they don't like it then fuck off. I grew up with a lot of different coloursof friends, but sod it - not any more. Its getting to the point that we are the minority.
Australia's Prime minister and deputy went on tv and said that if you want to live there you put up or shut up or fuck off - gotta admire them.
There is one law here and if you don't like it - fuck off.
I'm not religious but accept the right to believe in what you want - don't then kick off if you don't like something we do.
I personally think its gone too far here now, and there is nothing that can be done without a monster kick off. However there needs to be a line somewhere that everyone can stop at. Problem  is where?
