Hi all, just wondering what different makes of tyres people use for their track bikes

i know there are the pirelli supercorsa pro and metzeler ractec's

but what about michelins and dunlops?

is there anyone using different tyres?

dunlop 209gps is the best trackday tyre from dunlop

michelin is the power race not heard much from them really , I have heard people say they don't give much warning before letting go... others swear by them...

Avon viper xtremes are good and cheap they have loads of feel loads of grip just don't last to well...


I say diablo supercorsa is about the best of the shelf tyre you can get for the track(treaded)

you should try what you have see how you get on if they wrok ok then ontinue to use them if they don't then maybe try summit else.

i did a track day with G . i had supercorasers and the feedback off them was unreal and thev'e lasted a long time too a big from me
and the avons are good too ?

Pirelli Supercorsa Pro or Diablo supercorsa(the new one from pirelli)
Metzeler Racetec
Dunlop 209 GP
Bridestone 002 race compounds
Michelin Power Race
Avon Viper Xtreme
Continental race attack??

They are the main track biased tyres available. You could also use a pair of 2CT's or something like that if you are inters sort of pace and have no problems at all on a B1.

I use either Racetecs or Supercorsa Pros.

I have been using Michelin Power Race this year on my R1 trackbike,  Soft front and medium rear seem pretty good but they don't give much feedback , they seem very stable under braking.

Suggest Racetec or Supercorsa Pro, these seem the most common around nowadays

I have used slicks before and they are in a different league probably going to go back to slicks next year depending whats on ebay
