Bicycle Bits
« on: November 19, 2007, 09:58:58 AM »

Where is the best place to hunt around for quality mtb bits? I'm upgrading the kit on my Cannondale hardtail?

Nice bike Horse!

Well so far I've found a XT crank and Truvativ Giga BB. A XTR front mech. XT rear mech and shifters (hopefully picking up on Friday). I've also got some superlight bars, but can't remember the name.  Will probably pick up a XT cassette and chain off Ebay this weekend. Some decent forks next - possibly Rockshox SID, but will see what comes up. Almost bought a Spinner Aeris fork (1.2kgs!!) but didn't have the cash right away. I will also be looking for a hydra disc front brake in the new year, and maybe a hydra rim brake for the rear.

Useless fact for the day, Moutain bikes had radial mounted disk brake calipers before motorbikes used them.  Manufactured by the American company "Hayes"
