winter riding
« on: November 05, 2007, 11:24:22 PM »

so what does everyone do re. bike riding over winter when there are no track days and the roads are wet / covered in shite salt ?

does anyone ride off road or green lane or maybe it's pushbike time perhaps ? or is everyone a virtual biker on Playstations etc learning track skills for next year  [whistle]

None of the above, I just keep on riding regardless of weather conditions.

Saw 104 mph in the worst of the snow last year.

Stupid or Brave?

Yeah probably the previous.

The only thing that stops me is ice, and even that is debatable.  Slush stops me filtering at times, but it's surprising how many good, dry days there are in the winter.  I consider myself a biker with a car, rather than a car driver with a bike as a hobby.

I'll be riding during the winter,  mostly not on the 10 though  :icon_thumright:

Won't be doing the ice & slush thing though, been there, done that, had the gravel rash !

Older, wiser & wealthier these days, so can afford a car & have the sense to use it when experience tells me to.
