not really... R1tastic off here bought a 99 R1 it had 20 grand on it but was well looked after and the previous owner barely road it...... it was very clean and he paid 2100 for it...

little did R1tastic know that wheelying an R1 was easier than he thought and was addictive.... but the fact that he didn't perfect the wheelie it without chewing his gearbox up, means that it is no longer mint  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

He has it up for sale on www.londonbikers.com ,think he said he is looking at a ZX9.........upgrade?.......  :icon_scratch:

Thats no upgrade in my opinion  :icon_scratch:

Iconic bike to lardy old fat bird ( albeit an apparently good road bike  :dontknow: )

I think I would rather keep the 7R !!

How can a bike that is 6o-odd lbs lighter (& has 23 more BHP) then the 7R be lardier  ?  :dontknow:

And I've known too many folks that have had gearbox problems on the 1st gen R1, for me to spend my own hard-earned on one !

Why don't you slot a 9r engine in your zxr frame... :icon_scratch:

why don't you save another 250 quid and buy this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230189093796&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=013

stonking bike similar to daves and V5 is availble for daytime MOT.... you can buy a simple projector light for front and wire a simple light cluster for read very cheaply probably for less than 100 quid

so for 2350 you would have a stonking bike far better than a stinky 9R  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

ahh leave the nine alone, its a Kwak after all

it just lived in the shadow of blades and r1's.

the c models looked cool in there day.

never rode a zx7r, still like the looks, performance bikes tricked one up the
other year and got over 120 bhp.

i had its rival a srad 750ww, a few mods and 123bhp at the wheel.
loved that bike to bits and learnt so much on it.

but then along came the 10
