I was slaughtered riding through Wales a few weeks ago by two of these, smelling of Castrol R as they passed me.  Granted my 10 needs setting up, but these guys were seriously quick, so quick I've ordered the 16 tooth front sprocket and a 1/5 throttle conversion to get an edge back.  I'd expect it to make a really good track day bike for most people.  You'll never be the quickest out there, so you might as well have fun at a reasonable cost, and the 9 was always underrated cos of the Blade and the R1.

In my defence :emb:, I'm running standard suspension, I'm a rather lardy 16 stone so acceleration isn't as quick as it might be, and I was on the standard Qualifers, which stood up rather well.  The only stock tyre I've ever thrown away because they were crap, was an Inoue on the Suzuki GT185 and the appalling Mez3s on the 99 R1.

Road is completely different to track..... I aint that quick on the road as the fear factor comes in but on track my tool goes .... and you have to be a good ridier to handle one of them nines well  :icon_thumleft:

And before anyone slates me I aint saying I can kick anyones arse on a 9 I am just saying that to go well on a 9 r to keep up with an average rider on a ten you and to be pretty good thats all  B-)

maybe that's a good idea for next year as a track bike but we'll see  :icon_scratch:

There's always someone faster Doug maybe soemone who's willing to take more risks etc  :dontknow:

.................hey 16 stones isn't lardy it's only a bit more than me and I'm a picture of fitness  [whistle]

yes the road is different to the track for sure but fun is fun  :icon_thumright:

im as quick on my 9 as i am on my 10, riding style is different.

they are also very fast bikes and have awsome top speeds due to great aerodynamics.

I don't think I would be as quick on a nine that I am on a ten..... but I think that is because I have never riden a nine and don't know how they ride  :dontknow:
