my two pence worth....

at the end of the day the biker was a twat...... to not see a fooking huge buggy in the road fuck me he must be blind.... he deserved what sentence he gets really...

but I agree that the papers do like to make things look worse , i.e leather clad rather than protective clothing etc....

these guys should go for eye tests and shouldn't be aloud on the road let alone bikes  [wall]

I wonder if she'd been in a Metro, and the biker had died, you'd have the same outlook.  Look right, look left, look right again, if the road's clear proceed, it's the process everyone should use, even pedestrians.

I didn't say they weren't racing, the jury did, and the judge is there to take note of the jury's decision, not apply his own views.

I would have the same outlook, the bikers fault again as he failed to spot a hazard and react in time to that hazard due to him traveling at such a pace the driver of the metro found it difficult to judge the distance they were covering and also the riders of the bikes not spotting what the metro may do. Driving at an innapropriate speed and lack of attention to hazards/poor observations is what led to this and if it was a metro it would of led to that too.

Indeed thats what the judge is there to do. Unfortunately though if these guys had been more observant and focused on riding on the road, they may of picked up on upcoming hazards and riding more appropriately, ie not at double the speed limit and making them selves more visible to other road users and positioning.

And that is the sensible approach, driving/riding to the conditions. There are however sometimes when "accidents" do happen, i wouldnt class an accident as doing double the limit through a built up area not paying attention to the surroundings and hazards with no regard for any other road users (including padestrians).

I have no sympathy for anyone that feels the icy breath of the law when speeding. We are all well aware of the speed limits, whether we agree with them or not. If you want to ride fast go on a track. I like all of you speed but I always err on the side of caution, there is a time and place for everything. I never speed in a 30, past schools/ parks etc.
In addition to killing someone, all these guys have done is play into the hands of the press, who love a story where they can blame a minority (whether it be bikers/ asylum seekers/ anyone who farted near princess diana). There is a very small group of people impressed by bikes roaring past in a limited zone, and thats prepubescent boys, everyone else thinks you are a plum.

And dont even get me started on pete "waste of DNA" docherty.

Difficult one this. The accident happened just round the corner from my house. The video evidence was from an old codgers cctv outside his house. The road is a fuckin nightmare. Cars parked on both sides. little shits in the road. bad visibility all round. I'm not condoning what they did,but there was a massive shit storm around here at the time. getting pulled every 2mins,etc. The whole thing went on the video and an "expert" said 73mph. A clip of the video from the local paper is here ....
