Bunny Meets Tarmac!
« on: October 22, 2007, 10:52:20 AM »

Well...thought I'd let you all know that I decided I didn't like my brown paint job anymore and decided to try and scrape it off with the road...

Was pulling out of my friends driveway onto a main road, close to wear I live, and bang....hit some gravel, bike went down...not wanting the bike to be all alone on the deck, I duly followed.  Sliding along the deck for a few yards before the kerb very nicely, brought us to a gentle stop!  :crybaby2:

Damage probably looks worse than it is....but is definately an advert for R&G.  God bless em! :icon_thumright: So far (before my spanner monkey comes over tonight to inspect the beast), the damage looks like a new bottom fairing, new RHS rearset, crash bungs, wing mirror, bar end.  Some suffs and scratches on exhaust plus some minor scratches elsewhere.

Biggest dent is of course to my pride.  :emb:  Pissed off beyong belief.  Only popped round for a brew to see my mate after his trip to spain and see his mates R1 thats he's selling.   I was wearing jacket, gloves and boots, but was wearing jeans so my knees a bit mangled.  Nothing serious, few bruises and a bit of road rash.

Luckily its technically winter so its a project.  Maybe an excuse for that paint job I wanted.  Every cloud  :dontknow:

oh dear, poor bunny, have one of these  :occasion14: to make you feel better

Luckily it was only a low speed spill - could of been a lot worse.  Hope your knee isn't too badly hurt

one of the biggest pains in the arse ownign a bike is the huge amount of damage and cost incurred from relatively innpocuous spills/offs/drops...

guy reversed intyo my old ZX7R n his car few years back... thing basicalyl fell onto its side and slid mayeb a foot or two at most...

nearly 2G worth of damage..

luckily my mech gave the quote for 2K and then went ahead repaired everythign dirt cheap and stuck a 793cc stoker kit in her... all for 2K...

Ha ha, thanks mate!  Yeah, I heard a couple of others fancy that black and white spray job....hmmm...maybe time for a rethink! Now where did I put my crayons  :dontknow:

Thanks Jedi dude....luckily it was my good knee, not the bionic one.  Bit of bruising and road rash...it'll heal!  Found a nice bruise on my hip today too ;-)  Hope your recovering ok.  Don't really have anything to moan about compared to you.

unlucky there wabbit  :-(

as said the only good thing to come out of it is a paint job of your choice. just a shame that an off has to make the decision in most cases.

sorry about the mishap, sucks when it's a real low speed thing, I hope you mend quick.I got caught by a bull a week ago last saturday, it was pretty  mad and laid me out cold before inflicting some serious head butts. Just had the stitches out today and my bad left eye  is beginning to open; I'm real worried because I have very bad  double vision, hope it goes away when the swelling goes down....... no helmet, walking,it sucks
