was a tip from my resident california superbike instructor, told him it felt like i was going to end up in the trees coming through right hand bends, the front was running wide

"next time it happens chris, wind the throttle on and the bike will lift weight off the front wheel and bring it back into the corner"

so tried it and what do you know

no more running wide

works for me  :headbang:

cool....

I don't know exact situation.... and I haven't run wide (since i learnt to ride properly) on entrance or mid corner ever..... so dunno what the characteristics are.

But on exit I put power down and the bike naturally wants to run wide but I spose thats as I live the bike up a bit  :-/

i was always told that if you trail the rear brake you will hold a tighter line  :icon_scratch: But a bike will always handle better with some power on as it balances the bike... R.E twist of the wrist.

bend was a visible left hander not too sharp, just after over taking  car....Well reason for running wide in this case was undercompensating for the speed round the corner...cos I am used to a bike turning more responsively I guess...to correct I just pushed a bit harder on the bar, and in fact did I think open the throttle a bit more...but yeh rider error 100% - I ain't blaming the bike  :emb:  I also should have looked more positively where I was going if you know what I mean...

wasn't a total fck up ...just a little bit over the line...but in another situation  that might have been very dangerous...

Just generally with the bike on twisty roads I'm used to it's I'm finding I have to muscle it a bit that's all  not all bad at least its making me get my bum off the seat  [rofl]

Mine was running wide regularly in bends and I took it to the same guy as Glen and for 40 beer vouchers i'ts been sorted proper.  Oh and the Road Pilot 2's I have on it now are helping a great deal, just hoping they will last the distance now.

Noticably better than the Avon's I had on before and that was before I'd even scrubbed them in. I've only had them on for about 10 days so can't comment on their life cycle, but for stickiness they are very good.

I do about 12-13 k miles a year so needed something that was going to last, but don't forget I only got a 636 not a 10 mate, so I'm not sure how they would fair on something with a lot more torque.
