Whats your views on Pirelli Diablo Corsa Tyres???
« on: October 07, 2007, 10:35:19 PM »

Im curious, whats people's thoughts on Pirelli Diablo Corsa tyres? I have them fitted on my 07 Blade and as most of you know the Blade is quite hard to get out of shape because of its stability. Well, while out hooning around on the roads, with the tyres well warmed up and the ground being a reasonable temp i managed to slide my rear exiting a corner on the infamous Alton Road. I was told by the guy who fitted the tyres that to get these to move about on you, your gonna have to be canning it super hard and then your probably bottle it before the tyre actually gets to do what it was made for.

Well i have always run Bridgestones BT-014's and they never slid once but upon hearing such good things about these tyres thought i'd give them a go.

Anyone else have some slipage with these tyres??

You will probably find there was something on the road that caused the slide. I have the same tyres on my 05 ZX10. I'm not the fastest rider out there. But even super corsa's can let go a bit on shit surfaces.

If he lets us know what one of the 3 he was running and at what pressure might have an idea if it was the tyre or not .... I doubt it was the tyre and like you say probably summit on the road  :icon_thumleft:

Im running the Pirelli Diablo Corsa 3's, that might have been useful when putting my question across.... [wall]

I was pushing hard tonight on the Blade going into a left hander and the rear stuck like glue, so maybe the surface was abit dodgy.
On another note, i had abit of a push and shove race with a guy on an RSV Aprilia, who was pretty fast and abit crazy, i thought f**k this, got my head down and decided to go for it and managed to drop him, when i got to M and P's he come over to me and said, "nice bit of riding, i couldn't catch ya after the Benson turn off". Confidence at this stage is getting a tank full of fuel and then the cheeky bastard says "i think you need work on your lines though, i could have taken you several times thoughs" then he gave me a card to attend an advanced riding school.
I offered him a race back, but he declined. Chicken s**t!!

Anyway's, thanks for the input on the Tyres situation. :occasion14:

Awesome, will let some air out then and try this. I think this could explain the spinning up coming out of corners.
I only really notice it when lifting the knee from the ground, getting the bike more upright all the while laying the power on and coming out of corners as fast as possible.

Thanks for the advice, will try this tomorrow. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
