I will be putting the moped away when it gets too inclement, and either running or riding into work on the mountain bike (training for the grim). 'Tis the time of year wives across the land say "I told you we needed two cars, not a motorbike you only use 9 months of the year" :dontknow:

The weather down here (Kent) is not as bad as some off those places up north so i normally carry on commuting all year.

I'll be riding all winter, but on the old workhorse - a scruffy 1200 Bandit that's evolved over the years for the task, the 10R will only be out on nice dry days when there's not so much as a sniff of salt in the air.

There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong equipment !    :glasses9:

I actually really enjoy an early morning ride on a cold dry day, makes the bacon buttie & cuppa at the end taste so much better !  B-)

Although I'm joining a gym next week to get fit for trackdays next year, so I think Bacon Butties will be a very rare treat for a while.

Also giving up smoking next week.

God that's depressed me already.

Too many miles and stays away for me to really use the 10 through winter, however I was taking to Chris yesterday and seriously considering about getting a "commuter" bike.  blackbird, or vfr or someit.  Think you need to do the whole ALL weather biking once in ya life.  And if you don't like it, you sell the bike and use the car.

I do try and get out on the bikes through the winter.  Went out Xmas day last few years, cold but ok.  Don the winter kit, and awahhhey! you go!

I actually don't mind biking in the cold, as long as your warm. So proper kits is a must...I have Gericke stuff which is soooo comfy and warm. Don't notice the cold at all!

Snap - I did exactly the same on xmas day 2 yrs ago.  Was definately cold - bought a snickers bar and put it in my jacket pocket, when I stopped to eat it I nearly broke my tooth off - the thing was rock solid  [rofl] .  Was great to get out though - no traffic, no cops, just plenty of open roads and fun to be had  :hello2:

As long as its dry and the roads aren't all salted up then I will still ride, though usually just a short run, not a full day out.
