« on: September 21, 2007, 05:45:15 PM »

Hi,my lovely z750 is smashed up,some idiot reversed into it whilst it was parked! Can anyone tell me if I have a choice of where it will be repaired,or do I have to go where insurers say?it's not written off but left side badly damaged, tank dented, gear change all smashed up,cover on side all dented, luckily Fully Comp, any help would be appreciated,as not sure where I stand.Cheers.

Its up to you whether you involve the insurance or not. If its too bad i would prefer to go through the insurace and them write it off and you get a new bike that you know is perfect again.

no mate they cant, but if you dont want it back and have it writen off then damage the frame with the ball of a ball pain hammer, that way they have to replace the frame, which usually writes the bike off

Ooooh, sounds nasty, trouble is bike has been collected by recovery,is in West Drayton overnight until they decide where its going, but I wanna decide where it's going, can I INSIST on where it goes, would like it back really. It's a non-fault accident.

so don't you know who knocked it over etc  :icon_scratch: , then your insurance will claim from theirs and will recover your excess in the process  :icon_thumright:

yes but you'll get it back mate  :icon_thumright:  if you push them hard they might waiver it due to the way the accident happened perhaps but I guess excess is excess really but you will get it back  :icon_thumright:
