Some of you have them Kawasaki /Other make sweat bands over your reservoirs on ya handle bars....where do ya get these from?

Tried ebay but don't know what to search for...."Sweat band Cover thing for motorbike " doesn't work!

i've got a 'Miller Time' beer sweatband around mine. more so because i post as 'MilleR Time' on the aprilia forums. Mille R, MilleR.. clever arent i? 

on another note, one kewpie doll to the first of ya'll who can answer why the sweatbands were put there originally..

undoubtedly some of ya's already know, so i'm sure it'll be answered.. but undoubtedly i'll remember i made this post here, and return to post the answer way after ya'll have stopped giving a shit, to answer the question should none of ya'll know.

the reason the sweatband goes over the pot , is mainly on track ....... if you Bin your bike the fluid gets absorbed into the band on not over the track

They are supposed to catch any overflowing brake fluid from the reservoir ( can happen if you overfill the reservoir, then have a tankslapper that knocks the pistons back in the calipers)

all correct answers. however dont forget that it expands with heat and builds pressure.  often times after a session you'll pull in to see small amounts of fluid on your windscreen, just from the pressure inside the reservoir sneaking out. so yes, it helps in a crash but it also is effective at keeping things clean when you manage to do things properly also.

i've heard it (incorrectly, if ya ask me) explained as 'it covers up the fluid and keeps the sloshing outta sight while you're mid-corner, less distracting.' but it always sounded like a stupid explaination to me. if thats where you're looking while tipping in at 120mph, then you need to change your priorities.
