brembo - 19x20 or 19x18?!?!
« on: August 31, 2007, 02:10:19 PM »

Hi All,

I am looking to buy a Brembo Master Cylinder for my 10, but am confused by the whole 19x20 etc etc thing?

Chrisblack10r has been a legend trying to help me with this, but just want a bit more input?

Do I need the 19x20 or the 19x18....because every site/ebay item says different things.  One says 19x18 is for race, the other says its "perfect for road"  and vice versa...the same with the 19x20?!?!?  :dontknow: :dontknow: :icon_scratch:

Can someone shed some "more" light on this pleeeeease!  [pray]

Thanks

Andy

Jon told me the 19/20 was a kind of on off brake

and the 18/19 gave more feel thats what I understood.... But he said it wasn't the cylinder thats different... its the way the lever works  :icon_thumright:

19 is the bore, 16, 18 or 20 is the lever number, possibly based on leverage ratio.  I bought a billet Brembo m/c off the Harris stand at the NEC a couple of years back, a  19x16 and he said it would be perfect on the road.  When the bike blew off the sidestand in those winds earlier in the year I replaced the lever with a shorty Pazzo so now it's a 19 x 18 and I can't say I've noticed much difference.

you wont be disapoointed mate trust me, the 20 bit is the distance of the pivot from the body so as jon says the bigger the distance the less the lever will travel before it starts putting the brakes on

but you wont be disappointed either way

looks like im going to be a busy boy on monday night  [rofl]

the feel i get from mine is awesome but nice one buddy  :headbang: :headbang:
