Not really anything to do with gearing mate. If you want to wheelie at 50mph then cruise along in 2nd at 40 ish and then pop the clutch with a good few revs and up she will come. Start with a few revs and if it comes up an inch, give it a few more and keep doing this until you find the right amount or revs to get it up to a decent hight, then just smooth the power on and ride it out. Its all down to practice. I can pop mine straight up to balance point, its just practice.
The thing most people do when trying to learn is to pop the clutch with a handful of revs but as soon as the front lifts from the pop, they shut the gas. You  just need to keep on the gas smoothly.

mine won't come up at 40 unless I ring its neck and then its too agressive....

I can get mine up at about 55 I need to control the throttle.... I was never good at the drums so my controls on the bike thinking about more than one movement is difficult for me..... thats why I don't bother doing them so much mate..... cause I feel like I am fighting myself to fail  :-(

Yours will come up easy at 40 mph in 2nd mate. It just needs more revs, not ring its neck, just more.

Dont worry my mate Phil has a zzr1400 he is going threw the same dilema as yoursef. Wants to wheelie and has suggested a wheeli school to a few of the lads down here but they hav no interest in hoisting the front wheel skywards. 2 weeks ago he had the secondary throttle bodies removed because the 14 is dead under 6000 rpm now he has instant responce ans is playing around in first gear excellerating hard to get a power wheelie but as soon as it starts to lift his bottle goes and he shuts the throttle.

Did a wheelie school a few years ago.Had Bandits. Good days instruction but they had a trip switch fitted that when you went to a certain height it cut the ignition so you could`t get any distance or get second gear.  :crybaby2: Sadly I still can not wheelie my own bikes. Bottle factor  :emb:
