the problem i found abroad is when you first get there,it's in your head to drive/ride on the right,however in the mornings or after a brew break,i found myself on the left ,can be little scary lol.just think about before you get going

Stick some tape inside your screen on the right hand side to remind you

there is only one downside, when you get back to the uk you realize it's even more shit than when you left, european drivers are on the ball when it comes to bikes and as Yogi pointed out the roads are top banana and the slip roads on motorways curve to the right and can go on forever

As I haven't tried it, do the clocks on the 10'r change to km/h from mph if you hold the mode and reset buttons down...used to on my Gixxer!  If so, do that!

I travelled to Brno for the Gp 2 years ago on my gixxer and it was awesome.  LOved the European roads, autobahns etc!  You'll have a ball.

All I would say, is take lots of piss/fag/petrol breaks.  Obviously to keep you focused, but also its nice to just catch up with you riding mates.  Otherwise the ride there is like a solo trip.  France is very easy to be able to play it by ear and not book anywhere.  Just turn up and get a good b&b, some top scram all for about 30-40 quid.

Enjoy the trip, shame you going to see the yanks play a game they just "don't" get...I'm trying desperately to get some tickets for a few games.  Cause its the world cup, my old club player rights don't have as much oomph!

However...i used to have an SV650...and I could keep up with the best of em....no point having all that power of a thou and knowing feck all what to do with it

The guy on the SV650 will be a misfit and his sister will want her bike back......   talk him out of it before its too late or get him to buy a faster bike before you go ...... FFS.

Make sure you take your medical card with you, you will need it for neck treatment looking for that twat on the SV650 in your mirrors all the time.

I was doing an observer run today with a guy on a SV650 and on the way back he tried to give it barry biscuits he popped his cork at 120 max., when we stopped for a briefing i told him to try and make better progress because i hadn't been above 2nd gear all fooking day.

My '04 10r, a couple of R6, an R1, and a rather stunning '93 Blade, oh and an SV650. We are riding over to watch England v's USA world cup game in Lens, then after that playing it by ear. I would like to have a blast down some of the smaller class roads south east of Lens, and maybe around the Belgium, Luxembourg borders. This will be my first time riding abroad. I don't have to worry about any kit (except waterproofs, etc) as we have a dutyful non biker driving over in a car , slowly following to meet up with us at campsites etc. what could possibly go wrong........

I'm off to France in september with the old man and his friends (freebie) and your bothered about your mate on a SV650  they are all over 60 

Looks like i'll be heading off on my own for some fun
