My '04 10r, a couple of R6, an R1, and a rather stunning '93 Blade, oh and an SV650. We are riding over to watch England v's USA world cup game in Lens, then after that playing it by ear. I would like to have a blast down some of the smaller class roads south east of Lens, and maybe around the Belgium, Luxembourg borders. This will be my first time riding abroad. I don't have to worry about any kit (except waterproofs, etc) as we have a dutyful non biker driving over in a car , slowly following to meet up with us at campsites etc. :hello2: what could possibly go wrong........ [rofl]

Ride on the other side of the road is a good start mate ;-)

Well you did say comedy suggestions :dontknow:

Seems a bit strange why you would want to rid eto France to watch out home nation play the USA :icon_scratch:

Snowy...its a doddle to ride over there!!
Be careful when leaving the ports for a good 10/20 miles for speed traps!!
When you see a speed camera sign there will be one!!
Speed cameras are not like ours but are set in boxes sat on the ground, they have yellow hazard tape around them. Most are forward facing but some are set up for bikes and rear facing...but we noticed that the frogs let you know what type it is.
A vast majority of roads are very well surfaced and off the beaten track....twisty!!!!!!!!!!
Fuel stations are plenty enough but the ones we always came across out in the sticks had funny open times.
All in all you aint got nowt to worry about!

Me and a Mate did saint-tropez about 8 years ago. me on me old FZR1000 with an exup lump fitted and him his GSXR750. we had the other halfs on the back and all camping gear as well as cloths straped anywere and everywere. a bloody good week you'll love it. be aware of new regs in France regarding refletive markings on your lids. This can get an on the spot fine or worse if the cop is an arse (ohh and dont argue they carry guns) An should your have an accident in poor visability it may void any insurance claim. see pics.

the problem i found abroad is when you first get there,it's in your head to drive/ride on the right, however in the mornings or after a brew break,i found myself on the left ,can be little scary lol.just think about before you get going :icon_thumright:

I always take a full set of spare keys and give to a mate to carry, just in case.
