Wheelie....doing my nut in!
« on: August 21, 2007, 06:29:39 PM »

Right...been far to much talk about the art of wheelies...and I'm very jealous!  [wall]

So come on....easy steps to a basic wheelie....other than just fecking twist the throttle!

Never ever been able to do em, not on my SV, Daytona, Gixxer or now my 10...I'm pathetic aren't I?  Sorry...shall I just go and hang my head in shame?  :emb:

Its all in the mind lads. Once you get over the fear they are easy, especially on a ZX10R with 180bhp.

wheelies just don't really interest me..... I am sure I would crack it eventually is I had a quite road and a few hours...... But I don't get the feeling others get when pulling mingers.... I get more excitement watching Jon do it.....

but each to there own...... but coming from someone who can only pull baby ones and not on demand.....

its all about fear and comfort  :icon_thumleft: first thing face the fear...... next thing find the comfort zone...... I will discuss the power and clutch points on thursday for which I use..... but again I cannot do them every time on demand....  :icon_thumleft:

I would rather go around a corner sweetly getting line right, getting knee down at 130mph than do a 130meter wheelie.

small steps and maybe just try a bit over power over a hump to begin with (maybe the exit from a rundabout) to lift it an inch only............ then when you feel it's ok just try hard accelaration in 2nd on a flat straight and you'll soon either get the feel or will hate it.....  :icon_thumright:

It really is something to take gradually to see if you feel comfortable with it and if you don't then just forget about it, I'm certainly no wheelie god just the odd power wheelie really but I do enjoy em  :emb:
