Magazine road tests
« on: July 20, 2007, 12:01:12 AM »

How much emphisis do forum members put on Road Tests, carried out, by some of the leading   :?:  motorcycle rags ?
The Kawasaki,s  always seem to come off second. The 10r ,in particular, always  gets slated for something .
In one rag the new z750 ( on paper) seemed to be the best in the test but was religated because the seat was,nt " adequetely padded" .

I never pay attention to them.  I know the 10r might not be the "best" in mag terms and the Hondas win more races but in my eyes it is the best.  Buckets more character than the other litres and it suits my driving style etc.

I have had GSXR's and Yamaha's and always go back to Quacks!!   :icon_thumright:

It's all about what you want and not the opinion of some jumped up failed racer in a bike mage in my book.

Don't care for their opinions, I've read too much crap over the years to even bother buying bike mags anymore  [naughty]

If you buy a mag that says a bike is the best and fantastic etc try reading the same mag a year later where you'll most likely find tat the same bike has become full of faults in an identical test  [wall]  at the end of the day the mags are there to make a profit so if they rattle things up a little then people buy, it's not about providing a free and effective service to bikers it's all about profit and controversy

I only buy them for the pretty pictures.....  :icon_thumleft:

truth of the matter is if you want to have a bike to go fast on then any one of the bikes will do it.....

If you want a bike that you can go fast on and not worry go buy a honda

if you want a bike to go fast and be part of the crowd go by a suzuki or yamaha

if you want a bike that with thirll your ass off and make you feel alive then the Ten is it.....  :icon_thumleft:

It's all about what you want and not the opinion of some jumped up failed racer in a bike mage in my book.

With respect Andy, i'd hardly call Niall Mackenzie and Jim Whitham "failed racers"

They are all good bikes, but the very nature of a group test is to rate them in order, therfore someone has to come last.
