A little success story
« on: July 19, 2007, 04:55:36 PM »

Once ( six years ago)there was a man that used to sweep the warehouse floor.
It was soon recognised that he was good at his job(never lost a broom) and he was made Warehouse manager after three months.
The company moved to a newer bigger warehouse a year later and the lucky little man blagged his way into being made a Production manager.

Over time( a couple of years) he proved himself, worked hard and was very dedicated to the job, he worked long hours and many times over the weekends. He was not shy of sweeping the floor still or cleaning the toilets or even loading trucks.
The big boss soon saw this and rewarded him with his own office upstairs right next door to accounts and the directors office.

Well eventually the man got tired, fed up, disillusioned and had a brain fart and thought he would leave and go to another company.   :-(

Now the bosses were worried as this little man was very embedded in the company and knew almost everything about the company including sweeping the floors.  [wall]

Our little story takes us to yesterday, two weeks from being at the comapany for exactly six years and after the big bosses overseas had scratched their heads and worried.  :lurk:
How where they going to replace this little man that had wormed his way in so far into the comapny and held all the little strings to keep things running smoothly? :dontknow:

Well they made me general Manager yesterday and I want to shout it to the world.  :director:

Would have been cheaper if they just gave you a new broom with your name on every now and then...

Congratulations, nice one mate!  :icon_thumright:  :occasion14:

I've used the exact same tactic in work this week.

They have until tomorrow to prove that they want to keep me.
I've demanded that they put in writing my future role and pay me accordingly, if it's not there tomorrow I will be spending the following month looking for a job.

They have said that the paperwork is being drafted up to which I replied "In that case I expect to have it in my hands sometime on Friday then"

Anyone got a job, just in case this back fires  :dontknow:
