I never thought much of the Focus until a mate of mine who is an ex dutch rally driver took me out in one a totally scared the crap out of me.  It seems they go much much faster round corners than i thought they could.  Ha, Ha.. :icon_thumright:

Nah,
Its Subaru for me, got an 05 sti9 type UK with a couple of extras

Engine

Full Meercat decat snake head exhaust
GT spec 2 headers
APS inner wing induction
ported standard turbo (wastegate and exhaust housing)
Perrin turbo intake pipe
Andy Forrest Tec3 remap   www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/index2.html

running 10% methanol in the fuel

Suspension etc

Prodrive springs
Front Titanium strut brace from a JDM car
Whiteline Anti Lift Kit

Interior

Defi BF Link gauges (Oil temp, pressure and boost)

Cars running 370bhp and 364 lbs-ft of torque :icon_thumright:

On my last mapping session I ran out of injector duty so Andy couldnt map it any harder so next things are Fuel pressure regulator to up the fuel pressure to 3.5 bar (cheaper than larger injectors), Apexi AVCR to give it a better mid range and a custom front mount with reverced inlet manifold and possibly a bigger turbo.

Im a bit of a car nut too...lol

Going to Knockhill on the 28th of July (morning session) if anyone wants a wee pax lap

Graeme

sounds like a serious motor G.Mac  :icon_thumright:

Yes Glenn the front can feel light in the Focus guess it's the front wheel drive causing that, but bloody hell it holds the road well  :icon_thumright:

Hey G, bet my mate could scare you in a focus.  He used to rally in national rallies up in Sweeden / Norway and Holland and even drove an RS200 for some time.  I have been in rally cars before, but they had all the safety gear etc and were on closed circuts, but this guy makes a road car feel faster than some rally cars.

We were late for a wedding of a friend of ours and i made the mistake of telling him to put the foot down.  I dont scare easy, but when he jumped a hump back bridge ( in air for about 3 car lengths ), landed and then immediately put it sideways round a tight right hander which i still think was on 2 wheels, i panicked and had to tell him to slow down.  ....  It was then sillent in the car for what seemed like a lifetime, until i stammered, "Fcuk sake...  You know this road well... i thought we were dead there", i then heard, "never been on it before... , i could go faster if i had another go", "smoke and and pancake"  :-/

He's dutch, i added the smoke and a pancake for effect  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

BTW.  His bike is a k1200gs adventure and he can put some of my mates with litre bikes to shame on the twisties.

Mr Ninja
with running the standard turbo, I still have pretty fast spool up, in the first 4 gears ive got full boost by approx 3200 - 3300 rpm, in 5th and 6th im getting my full target boost of 1.55 bar by 2800 rpm.

As part of my map Andy has mapped in "Launch control" this is where the car is stationary you put the foot flat to the floor and the car blips the rpm at just under 5500 rpm and it holds a steadt 1 bar of boost at a standstill. when I sidestep the clutch I can have all 4 wheels spinning ;-)

Ive done the 1/4 in 12.8 seconds, but I would love a run in Andy Forrests monster that is still road legal and can run the 1/4 in 9.16

Sounds like you were lucky G, would not like to have been the driver though.

I am ok in a car so long as i know the driver... ( Except my Mum, she is dreadful ) [rofl]
I just keep my knees together, tuck myself into the seat and put my hands under my legs.  I have been in lots of car crashes and have survived ok so far ( Just wiplash ) but i really dont like it.

The bike is a different story. I got into biking from going on the back of some of my mates bikes, even when they were pushing it on, i enjoyed it.  Then, since i stared riding ( RGV 250 ),  i have never ever and never would go on the back of a bike again.  Even going slowly.. No Way!  [naughty]
