the seller contacted me outside of ebay and said......

Hi there!
You are lucky. The winning bidder just has informed me he is unable to pay me. I am ready to send it out to you if you are a genuine buyer. For speedy delivery please pay me by bank transfer. My details are Sort code. xxxxxx, account no. xxxxxxx, account name. M.Mahmoodia
As soon as I receive your money I will ship you the item straightaway. Thanx a lot.

Are people really this gullible  :dontknow:

Glenn if you don't have them pass his details on to me cause that sounds like a bargin to me :icon_thumleft:

He has sold a couple of vans off and that so could still be genuine [whistle]

Offer the asking price and say you will collect, see what he says then.

Jon,

I've spoken to the guy who won the auction and he's awaiting a reply from the seller, apparently he's asked for a bank transfer and has gone quiet on them being collected. Given that Glenn was offered them too it smells a bit off to say the least.  [naughty]

also, if you look at his sales history he is new to ebay and has made most of his feedback from 'private' auctions, he's sold a ton of high spec bike parts in the last 3 days all at less than healf the price you would expect today. Try advanced search, seller, completed listings and you'll see what I mean .........  :icon_thumright:

I hope the guy that won them (Ash) gets the forks but I'm doubtful  :-(

well the end of the story is that Ash never got the forks and his emails were ignored, apparently the seller has now been banned from ebay too, probably after ripping some people off. I recall that someone on here won a steering damper from him

It really pisses me off that people try to rip honest people off like that, he needs a good hiding to stop him from ever doing that again  :boxing:

Like was said earlier in the thread, if it's too good to be true it probably is  :occasion14:
