Glenn I have no problem with the country having a monarchy, but what boils my piss is the fact that they want us to pay for the repairs to something that we are paying for at the moment. When you look at how many people live in poverty and the local council's struggle with repairs to existing housing. They also have a shortfall in properties and cannot accomodate those that have no homes.
Now I'm not a long haired hippy who thinks that everyone should be able to have everything for free, quite the opposite in fact. Nothing annoys me more than seeing people on benefits driving around in decent cars with all the latest gear whilst most of us struggle on with a job managing to stay afloat.
Personally I think that the Royals should take reponsibility for it themselves and use some of the millions of tax payers money that pays their way to carry out the repairs. If this means that they have to go without and tighten the purse strings then so be it, the rest of us have to do it so they should lead by example.
