Stopping a Stoppie
« on: June 26, 2007, 08:16:37 PM »

All you tremendous superbike riders out there. Any thoughts on dealing with a stoppie out on the road. You have just locked the front up and the back lifts how do you stop yourself going over the handlebars?

All thoughts welcome.  :headbang:

The only way to stop a stoppie is to let go of the brake like already said by Simple.

Apply a startie. If that dont work do a fartie - it will cushion the impact...

PS are you going down a steep hill or something at the time ?  I'm sure some group members (who can walk the walk)  will hint at too soft suspension type stuff or sitting further back on the bike - it must be summat to do with a weight transfer thing. Cant say Im good enough to ever had it happen.

whats it called when you hold a certain pressure.... erm is it feathering... oh I can't remember the technical term but its when you control the pressure of the brake while still holding it on... SaffieD is pretty good at the rolling stoppy  :icon_thumright:
