My new 07 6R
« on: June 22, 2007, 07:42:18 PM »

Picked it up last night, very eventful ride down there on the back of a mates bike car hit us and we almost came off (close one I tell thee)

Had to get the bike from inside the house down off some decking with no ramps and being a nump I almost dropped it whilst James was lifting the bike

Then had to find a petrol station really quick as didn't know where one was in Alton, got there and almost dropped the bike... with sidestand down the bike is so upright and petrol station floor wasnt level so that was scary.

But got home in the end and here are the pictures:

First impressions of the bike are amazing, I love it which is a relief as I never test rode one before buying... 4k revs in 6th gear = 47mph which is a giant pain in the arse but I'll struggle along.

Feels very stable even though I wasn't going fast, brakes are out of this world... vibrates a bit but doesn't bother me.

Sounds really good which was a suprise as standard sounds like it's going to have an evil growl when it's revved properly.

Seat cowl is on order, I need a double bubble screen due to my height and need to tidy up the rear end.

But I love it  :icon_thumright:

Well the fella that was going to drop it off down here couldn't in the end so it had to stay at his but he had 20 odd bikes in his garage so it had to go in the house instead

Nah very much doubt the 10R will have one exhaust, they sort of need 2 for emissions nowadays and Japan have a thing about bigger bikes and 2 exhausts

new 6R is closest road bike to ZX-RR so far (looks wise) so hopefully 10R will be the next step in that direction...

Personally I don't think it'd be a bad thing if it shared some attributes with the 6R for obvious reasons but step fowards is what they need to do and have done every time so far since 2004 litre and 600 have never looked the same.

I was hoping to hold out for the '08 but couldn't wait another year. I'm hoping it has the exhausts exit just behind teh foot rests, a bit like the ER6's. I see they use them like that on the GP bike once in awhile.
