Dealership quality
« on: June 26, 2007, 05:25:29 PM »

Just thought i'd share this with everyone just incase your about to use a certain dealership to get your next service [naughty]

I was blessed with my 05 10 and few months ago, when i brought it the chap whilst crying  :crybaby2: told me its due a 12 month service, no worries i've got a bargain so i'll sort it.   Checking the service history Pidcocks sold the bike and carried out its last service, not a problem as they are a large dealership in Derby.

Having a low mile minter of a 10, I  like to keep the bike in tip top condition and have all the paperwork upto date cos thats my thing :icon_thumleft:  I called my nearest dealership Drayton Croft (1 hour drive) in Hinckley and got the babs booked in, and they even give you the option of semi or fully synthetic oil, quess my choice  :icon_scratch: as its only got 2k miles on the clock

Arrived on the saturday morning after playing ghost rider down the motorway, Hyper friendly staff and very helpful, i could sit in a lounge area and even watch the quys working on the beasty an hour later job done.

Whilst talking to the service engineer i was told that apart from a few loose fairing bolts, your bike was fitted with the wrong oil filter   so don't always trust the dealership monkeys

Wrong filter as in could have damaged the engine or wrong filter as in it didn't matter?

I had that conversation with the engineer and he says the problem is wrong oil filter can blow up then wreck engine, luckily mine was intact and therefore the engineer says will be ok :icon_thumleft: heart stopped for a moment

The chaps at Drayton Croft used to Race 10's not so long ago so they know their stuff  :glasses9:

Don't doubt what you say mate but I've never heard of oil filters 'blowing up' before. May be he was trying to score a few brownie points with you too? Anyway, all's well that end well..  :icon_thumleft:
