Someone on LB is selling gargoyle geckos and I'm tempted to get one, maybe two (except they're bloody expensive!). Do geckos give off any kind of odour at all? And what size viv do they need - I'm thinking of building one? Are they interesting as pets at all, or will I never see it because its hiding all the time?

Geckos shouldn't smell if you keep their viv clean. If I recall they are territorial and tend to keep to their patch. I can't say I know the gargoyle but a min would be something that is 3 times body length per lizard any heating should be un accasible by them as they could crawl onto heaters and fall asleep and when the heater comes on it cooks them, had it happen to a couple fo snakes. Where would you get a food source from? That would be my main concern.. Not sure if teh gargoyule is nocturnal or not as for pets I don't keep snakes any more because I found they were to inactive until feeding time, 1 or 2 weeks. Lizards are more active that snakes just don't give tehm a shock as thei tend to loose their tails.
