What I want to know is.... have you ridden any other post 04 litre sport bike and what do you think....

I really wanna know the difference.... I have only ridden and o4 R1 and I love the looks the front feels heavy and the power late , the suspension is also way too soft  but other than this the R1 is a great bike....

but whats you opinion and why  :icon_thumright:

Before it go rammed up the arse, it never skipped a beat and the only things that I changed on it were the tyres, steering damper, brake hoses and fork springs. I didn't even need to have it mapped. The paint was typically poor as with most Suzuki's though.

Before I rode the 2 smaller Gix's, it was the best handling sports ride I have been on. Coming from the TL's (heavily modded!) before it felt so small and easy to turn, but not flightly or unstable at all. The problem that I had with it was that you didn't have to rev it to go very very fast, so I would sometimes get caught out by the speed going into corners.

I honestly can't think of anything other than the poor paint that I disliked. It was even comfortable to ride all day.

Ridden an 04 blade, good fast bike very stable.

04 R1 i rate highly (obviously), sorted clearance problem with rearsets and a sussy revalve from Zeno.  No problems with the brakes, even at 160 odd mph speeds on the track. Best looks good sound from the aratas  :icon_thumright:

can you give a little comparison between the 3....

say

brakes

handling

power

comfort

style

say marks out of 5 for each thing for the 3 bikes  :icon_thumright:

Hmm hard to tell with the blade as it wasn't mine so i didn't really ride it 100%.  Cockpit felt very similar to my old 01 blade,  HSD was awesome on the bumpy roads. It looked good in red/white blue and had nice linear power. Typical Honda it seemed to do everything well.

Comfort aint an issue as i dont find sports bikes uncomfortable, even more so since i knackered my back . I thought i'd have to give up sports bikes but it isn't a problem.

I dunno if i have enough feel for a bike to give it a proper review, but stylewise i'd give the R1 5 and the 10R 4.5, the blade a 4

Power wise i prefer the R1. I like revvy bikes, my 01 cr250 was a classic case, no low down power and a screaming top end. The R1 is the same, it just allows you to hold on to each gear a bit longer. The 10R has a big fat powerband though and it's easy to get too enthusiastic with the throttle  :emb:  Brakes are fine on the 10r (i must have had a good one judging by others opinions) and likewise the R1, can't say which is better.
Build wise the R1 is much better screwed together than the 10R and the finish is top notch.
Handling wise the r1 has a much better balance than the stock 10r and i have a lot more confidence in the front end. I like to trail the front brake into corners and the 10r doesn't give as much confidence there.

Just my 2p's worth

 [whistle]

R1  :icon_thumright: even if mine is an oldie seems to have a good balance of everything and would guess it just improved over the years.

c1h zx9r planted this stuck to some roads better than my ten bit heavy but when you got it over it stayed there n held a line.
2001 blade boring nuf said
02 r1 worn out heap of shite ( but that aint the bikes fault just had a hard life)
k3 gixer done everything asked of it
k5 gixer as above with more grunt n comfy could ride this bike all day.
06 r1 brilliant smooth as silk more in it than on it which made it a bit toury compared to the ten made power diff felt slow but you are cracking on realy deceiving
06 blade quick very quick & very sore back ,shoulders, neck n thighs where aching on this n a was only on it for 40 min took it back caws a was sore would probably be miles better on a track but not for me on the road.
a know this aint a ltr bike but had a shot of the new r6 this year n its fookin brill wee bit hard n needed to be up at ten thou but it was fookin awesome in the twisties n fast flowing roads after reading what jon said bout the new zx6r would like a go on one to see how good it is compared to the r6 :icon_thumleft:
