Advice Needed - New Helmet
« on: September 13, 2019, 01:13:40 PM »

Hey all, I'm getting back in the saddle after a few years off. I decided to stop lurking and join in. I've been doing a bit of research for a new helmet and came across this guide: https://bikerrated.com/sharp-5-star-rated-helmets/ - do you guys worry about SHARP ratings? I seem to remember an ACU sticker was all you needed when I last bought a lid but should I get a 5-star rated one this time?

Hi TBH I never looked at Sharp rating, I've had Arai and Shoei and tend to stick to the bigger manufactures, but go to one of the big shops J and S, M and P or similar and try loads on and choose the one that fits and feels most comfortable, then order it online and save a load of money.
I've used this shop 3 times and always excellent service and best price.

As above really...

The decent brands are all as safe as each other. I always go for a Shoei just as it fits my head shape. Go and try a few on at dealers, get a rough price then get onto the internet and get it cheaper.
