Advanced Riding/Driving
« on: June 04, 2019, 02:03:38 PM »

Has anyone done the Advanced riding/driving at all? If so, what's it like?

Hi Dave

To what degree are you asking, Rospa Gold or similar or full on Police advanced of which I've done both car and motorcycle Advanced police courses.
These of course are far in advance of the Rospa and the like courses as speed limits are mot an issue.

I have actually completed the Rospa gold too which was sedate in retrospect but worth it nonetheless.

Anything that helps you be more aware and how to position/setup a bike/car on a road for a given situation is very much worth it

I did advanced driving and defensive driving courses back in.......wait for it........ MID EIGHTIES  [rofl] to be honest what i remember most is what r1flyguy touched on "Anything that helps you be more aware and how to position/setup a bike/car for a given situation is very much worth it" 7-8 years ago i did some in cab RHA training and was taken aback as to how much things have changed since i took my HGV back in........wait for it......EARLY EIGHTIES [rofl] So in all honestly this little thread has sparked me to go do some courses.
