bike mags, what do you buy and read
« on: May 26, 2007, 11:42:30 PM »

well,  I'll start by saying that I bought Performance bikes from the frst issue in Ahem...........well a long time ago. I'm so old that I remember ot being motorcycle machanics initially  [whistle]  I bought it for about 10 years and then got sick of the same old same old so stopped....

I then started with MCN each week and last year decided that it was a waste of time with little to read really so stopped that too

for the last couple of years bike mags have been thin on the ground with me, a bit like my hair  [rofl] [rofl]

anyhow I did try Rde and enjoyed that from the forst edition a ferw yesrsd back but got sick of the repeated tests and seeing products rated as brilliant one year turn to shite i theor opinion the next  :dontknow: I also but streetfightewrs now and then to see what's going on in that scene and have a few pals who are at the top end of that arene so it keeps me up to date with it all, not as though much changes really

Anyhow, now I don't bother much but did by Perf bikes a couple of days ago and it's really good with a great mix of old and new and a great '2 stroke frezy' edition is great to read, no tits or silly ads just bikes, mostly, nice one PB keep it up lads  :icon_thumright:

what do you guys read/buy   :dontknow:

Used to by MCN regularly, but that proved to be a pile of crap for the most of it.  I still buy the odd edition now and then, in fact I got one today but I've not looked at it yet.

Occasionally I buy whatever bike mag comes to hand when I can be bothered.

Unfotunately, I seem to spend most of my reading time on here so don't have time for mags and stuff, but I prefer it that way.

I subscribe to  PB and Motorcycle Racer. Did subscribe to Superbike but cancelled that and swaped to Mototrcycle Racer. Used to buy MCN without fail for years, but stopped last summer. Do look at it if I'm in the local Asda and realise I'm still not missing anything.

I buy PB.....I really like the writing style and find a lot of the stuff they get up to is very original.   The best thing is their emphasis that newest bikes arent always best .......for example they did a really good feature bringing a 98 r1 up to spec to comete with a 2005 model......

I buy Bike fanaticly until I got the new bike.  I Swap Bike with PB with a guy at work. I gave up on MCN, found it full of doom and gloom. They're allways going onabout the law is out to get us etc etc. I thought they never ahd anything good to say. I buy it if I'm looking for info or something to buybut now withthis forum who needs it.

You guys know everythnig and where to get it for the best price. So I can save money buying MCN but will keep the Bike mag rolling in I think.
