Gen 1 engine for sale

Hello all, I will shortly have a gen 1 engine for sale which has started to develop the 2nd gear issue. The rest of the box is fine and the bike still rides ok but starts to jump around in 2nd under hard acceleration, when pootling around 2nd isn't a problem. The rest of the engine is fine and I've been using it as is just shortshifting into 3rd to bypass the problem. I want 400 quid for the lump and I'm located in Hull. Would anyone be interested in this before I put it on ebay? Thanks

£400 is a bit steep for a motor with problems, decent ones go for not much more than that.

Ok Matt. The good ones I've seen on ebay are around the grand mark so I thought 400 was a decent price. Perhaps 300 would be better?

Not for a Gen1 motor they aren't £1k.
You're looking at £4-500 to split and sort the g'box properly.

The ones I've seen on there are. There's one on there now for 1100 quid - hence why I priced it like that.
