Gen4 shock conversion

I have a mint gen4 shock modified with a brand new 95 spring. Comes with uprated linkplates. £100 posted.
Works alot better compared to standard.

what weight springs in the shocks please ?

is the gen 4 shock completely stock or revalved?

The showa is standard 95 and the gen4 is standard low milage shock with a brand new 95 spring fitted.
Im 15 stone and 90 was just a tiny bit too soft for my liking and a 110 was too hard all be it im actually running a 90 now on a mupo shock and its ok.
But this is only because the links increase the damping speed

Stock spring in gen4 shock is 95 and I thought that was a bit light for me at 150lbs. It looks like your revised linkage makes the difference and helps with damping. I was at Pembrey on Saturday and rebound damping seems to be lacking. tyre was taking a pounding

Can you show me where you see the gen4 spring being 95?
Ive found on a few sites the gen4 is 110 and the gen5 is 95.
Ps if you have the gen4 shock with a 110 spring it will be causing rebound issues like i had when mine was standard too.
The rebound damping cannot handle the standard spring and link combo.
You need faster shaft speed to make the damping work better so you fit a softer spring and faster plates and hey presto. Im not shitting yu. I would let you fit them and try them and if you didnt like them i would gladly refund you but i guarentee you will love them. Especially the reduced tyre wear

9.7kg is approx 95N
I was planning on swapping to a 105N like I had in my gen3   :?:
Yep, damping is poor in stock shock, I'm thinking that your revised link plates would give me a cheap fix. Gen 5 shock looks tasty tho . Ill have a think  :roll:

The stiffer the spring the less effective the damping is.
Damping is increased the faster the shaft travels.
Im 15 stone and i tried a gen4 spring on a gen5 shock with my plates and i had to wind the spring fully off to get the sag good.
It worked perfectly.
I currently have a mupo shock with 95 spring and its good but i must admit im not convinced its as good as the showa but it looks ace so its staying for now
