hi all, a little bit about SKITLER
« on: August 21, 2016, 05:44:03 AM »

 hi all, im new to the forum but not to biking, im 54 and been a biker since i was 16  :headbang:

over the years i seem to have had more kwakas than any other make

at moment i have 8 bikes, sorry to say no zx10r amongst them

untill 08 id only ever done the minor service stuff to my bikes, but then with the "resession" and being unemployed i decided to buy a bike, strip it to its component parts, sand, respray and referb each part (not engine at this point) and put the bike back together and got it through a mot and it rode great. it was/is a gpz600r 1987 a2 on a d plate. i knew it was burning oil so then decided to refurb the head which i did via reading internet and the manual, all great then it developed a crank rattle when i was doing speeds above the legal limit  :roll: , i then did a full engine strip down and replaced the crank, all shells, and put it back together and to my amazement works great, ive since stripped the whole bike down again and done a better spray job on everything and had a £900 spray job on the panels to have the bike kwak green, it now looks and rides like new ( ill see if i can upload a pic later, once i get used to the workings of this forum host set up lol.

ive done the same with most of my other bikes except any engine work and panel spraying, the other bikes are;;

zzr 600 1990 h

klr 600 1987 d

gpx 750r 1988 f

gpz 750r 1987 e (the tom cruise one but a 750 not 900)

gpz 1000rx 1987 d

zx9r c2 1999 t (last of carbs)

and 1 non kwak, honda cbr1000f/h 1988 e

well thats about it for now   :occasion14:

sorry to waffle on, hope to get to know you all better, anything you need to now just ask.

enjoy your bikes and your biking  :headbang:

Welcome Skitler  :occasion14:

I'm 54 as well and been biking from the age of 17, longest time i went without a bike was a year....spent most of the time a grumpy fooker with a very short temper! Bikes are in my blood, my Dad was a racer back in the day and one of the Ace ton up Boys.....thats where my biking blood comes from.
Anyway....from one old fooker to another, Welcome!
