That's slightly confusing that thread

So if I updated calipers I need the 08 discs as well and that's it no spacers etc ?

Yes the Gen3 calipers bolt directly onto the Gen1 forks but they sit 5mm higher (out) than the gen1 stock calipers because the gen1 stock discs are 300mm the gen3 stock discs are 310 so you either fit 310mm discs which also increases braking, or it is possible to get the faces of the Gen3 calipers machined down by the 5mm  :icon_thumright:

I have 3rd gen calipers and discs on my 10R. For correct fitment you need 4.5mm taken off the caliper. I had mine done for a perfect fit.

Iv got the ZZR14 callipers on my Gen3, they are an improvement on the Gen3 callipers that are widely known to be better than the Gen1 callipers. These are a direct bolt on too yours and look better than Tokico callipers. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-ZZR1400-06-12-Front-NISSIN-Calipers-Bolts-/172062471297?hash=item280fb8f481:g:56AAAOSwYIhWl99L these are dirty looking but it looks like they will clean up & they have pads, pins & rattle plates, ideally new pads would be best but for a £100 there a good upgrade as is you can splash the cash on new pads at a later date :icon_thumright:

zzr1400 nissin calipers fit straight on my 07 and the pads from the old calipers need a meeting with a grinder to fit but work good

That's interesting just for future reference do you have any pictures of where you removed material ?

The Tokico ZX10R pads have large castellations on the top corners whereas the Nissin pads have much smaller 'bumps' on the corners.

The ZZR14 nissen calipers Iv fitted have 4 pads per caliper not 2. I'm confused.
