am i mad?
« on: November 16, 2015, 10:58:22 AM »

Hello
Sorry had to rush out of me house before I could finish me post

Anyway been away from bikeing for about 5 years now, last bike 🚲. Wad a 900 blade been biking for 20 plus's years.

Really fancyed a 10r but heard they are a bit of a handful, I don't claim to be an expert rider far from it I've never been round a bend with me knee down, but in the other hand in no novice either should I be getting one of these?

Also wondered if they are cumftable to ride on a long journey?

I was looking at a 09 model in orange
But I also spotted a 10 for only 5 k on mcn with 30 k miles on it, not too bothered about milage unless it has full dealer stamps on it, wondering what the experts think of this sort of mulage should I stear well clear of this bike?

Cheers

Probably, just like the rest of us.  Welcome to the forum.
Look for a lower mileage gen 3 bike if 5k is your budget with upgraded rear shock, cats & original silencer/pre muffler removed and nice can fitted. Keep looking and 1 will come along.  :icon_thumright:

My gen 1 was fairly comfortable. Gen 4s a bit firm on the seat but gen 4s have power settings so you can start off on low power if youve been out of bikes for a bit

Mad? Probably but welcome to the club. Get one, I've a gen 2 and have ridden it to Barcelona and back with no comfort issues. I have noticed recently though that me arse gets a bit tired after an hour or so. It's either the seat getting worn out and losing comfort or my arse getting old.

I am mad I have serious back problems morphine ect cant walk most days just buying this for distraction really probably polish it and look at it more than I wil ride it.

Like the sound of a gen 4 with power settings what year is that from a gen 4?

Hi mate....
I ride a z1000 as a daily,& a gen 4 as a weekend toy...
Also never got my knee down lol
But the gen 4 is truly an awesome bike, the ride is firmer than my Zed,but a lovely pleasure to ride.
And with no more extra wrist ache than the Zed over a prolonged ride.....
Same can be said with my arse,as both have a firm seat, but with no fuel gauge, you're always climbing off to fill her up anyway lol....
I'm guessing the more you ride it,the more 'muscle memory ' you will be accustomed to riding it !!
Hope this helps....

Kawasakis are prone to firm seats on later models. Gen 1 are nice and comfy. Gen 4s start from 2011 on
