Bike Stuff > Two Wheel waffle for all
Trying the dark side

I haven't had an off-road bike for 20 years, but now we live in 'the sticks', it feels like I should have one in the garage, so I'm currently negotiating hard to buy an old XT600. Does anyone else have a mixture of bikes, or is everyone just into road/track bikes?

im thinking about a early tiger 800 for everyday and winter roads :icon_thumright:

Well a deal has been done. Its a '92 XT600, 16,000km from new, 19 months ITV (MOT), new tyres & exhaust, needs new grips and has a small dent in the tank and a small crack in the plastic side panel, but for €800 or £630, I feel I've got a bargain.

Have a CRF450R - full fat but made road legal.
Bought it after the series of nasty winters we had.
£60 for a full set of plastics, unbreakable everything fitted, etc.
With the original wheels and two sets of offroad tyres its am absolute hoot when its crap, 10mins and its ready for green lane fun.
As it is its ready for 50'ish miles of on road smiles with Talon/Excel 17" wheels and tyres that'll do 20+k.
It'll only do 80mph but its on one wheel the whole time.
Would keep it but the new house means only two bikes and the 10R and the 14R win on that count.
