Dropped my lid.
« on: July 22, 2015, 05:07:46 PM »

as in the description, left my helmet on the tank whilst I rushed off to the call of nature in the bushes only to hear a nice dull thud. The end result. The clear coat is chipped and cracked, the carbon fibre is untouched but doubt I'll wear it again. Literally dropped £1000 :o(

Didn't Arai used to offer an x-ray service for helmets? To check if the damage was cosmetic or more serious.

Yes it 'was' an AGV Pista. To say I was gutted was an understatement. I have a couple Arai's to keep me going for now. I might replace it with a another one but one of the painted replica's.

They used to and I don't think they even used to charge. I bought a new Arai quantum after they started making them again and crashed the first day I wore it, tried to get it x-rayed but was told they don't do that anymore!

Every cloud has a silver lining. I've had a refund from the bank so I bought a new lid. Its the X-Lite X802r in carbon and I have to say its the lightest and most comfortable helmet I've ever worn.

I've been looking of a new lid but fancy something with bright colours......I do like the Rossi Mugello from this year but it's out in February and £800

I love my AGV Pista and if I can get it x-rayed and its ok then i'll get it painted, but it is noisy and pretty uncomfortable in comparison to the X-Lite. X-Lite have loads of different colour variations, Checa and Chaz Davies reps are available.
