Hi everyone,
bought a 2014 ZX10R yesterday and have been reading the forum for some time so thought I would join in. I have lived on the continent for the last 20+ years and in Germany for more than 10 years. I have ridden Kawas for the last 15 years or so and never had problems. Started with ZX12 and then swapped for a Z750 5 years ago. Living in south Germany is biker paradise, good weather, great roads, mountain passes and no speed limits on some of the autobahns. Looking forwards to exchanging tips and tricks about the ZX10.

Living in Germany sounds awesome. Some great roads there. Me and a few mates are heading there in June for a weeks joining around the black forest.

Got any routes to suggest ?

Well will definitely be playing on the b500 between Baden Baden and Basel.

Live on the edge of the black forrest between Freiburg and Basel. There are many good road in the BF. Freiburg to Titisee (B31) for super fast curves. Continue on the B500 past Schluchsee or the L156 for some twists. Continue on the B500 to Hausen, hang a right on the L149 to Sankt Baisien, L150 to Todmoos. L146 to the B317 and then either take a right back to over Feldberg or left on the B317 to Basel. Otherwise take the L151 and then L149 from Todmoos north back to Feldberg or Schluchsee via L146. Careful mate. On weekends some black forrest roads are closed to bikes. Cops are also keen with speed traps on the weekends. The B5 is my daily commute to work. 20km of no limit autobahn results in neck ache on a z750 hence the ZX10. Looking forward to going to work on Monday

What kind of speed traps do the police mount ? Camera vans, fixed cameras, unmarked cars or bikes ?

Unfortunately, all of the above and speed guns with cars waiting down the road. In the BF there are plenty of unmarked biker cops too but their main issue is speeding through the villages. If you have the time, I recommend a trip to the Swiss alps, Klausen or Susten passes. Fantastic roads and great scenery.

Hi IOMTDK,
There are a few tracks just over in France which are cheap apparently. I bought a 2005 ZX6 track bike last year but have not had time to ride it. The closest track in German is Hockenheim and they also do track days.
