New to Kawasaki
« on: April 19, 2015, 02:03:43 PM »

Hello I've just traded in my ktm rc8 for an 014 zx10r ,I come from a long list of suzukis and yamahas and looking forward to getting into the Kawasaki brand.I struggled with the poor gearbox on the ktm and didn't gel with it,I'm hoping the zx10r gives me that adrenaline rush again
I pick the new bike up on Friday

Hi and welcome to the forum.  My ZX10R is an 08 and it certainly gives you an adrenalin rush when the power cuts it.  Haven't ridden a newer model yet but guess they just get better.
My only criticism so far is the rear shock which is not stable enough even on full compression.  Will be looking for a K-Teck or Ohlins replacement.
Enjoy the 10.
Cheers, Al

I have a '14 zx10r and its my first Kawasaki, other than an old KH250 triple and a '92 KX250 and you won't be disappointed. Great bike and bloody fast!

Yeah know what you mean, I had a VTR SP1 for a while, it took me ages to learn how to ride it properly. No substitute for a high revving 4 cylinder screamer :)

Welcome mate. I run an '06 Zx10R, fancied a KTM recently but heard horror stories about gearbox and oil leaks.

Hi Bob they are a lot of bike for the money but the gearboxes feel like something out of a 1950s tractor and really ruin the riding experience. The owners defend them but in reality they arent anywhere near up to the spec of what the japs can offer
I pick my zx10r up tomorrow and cant wait  B-)

I picked the bike up friday and went for a two hour blast, all i can say is what an amazing bike,it feels tiny compared to the rc8 and is very very easy to ride.I love the induction roar and the kick at 10,000 revs.As I have said on other forums I think i am going to gel with this bike very quickly and really enjoy it.I made the right choice getting rid of the ktm ,in reflection it was a bit of a pig to ride.Turning to kawasaki and going back to an IL4 was the right thing to do
Let the good times roll...........
